How to distinguish the anionic, cationic and non-ionic types of polyacrylamide

Polyacrylamide has different ion types such as cation, anion, non-ion, etc. Most of them appear as white particles, but different types of polyacrylamide are used to treat different types of industrial effluents. So how to distinguish the ion type of polyacrylamide?

1. Test the pH to determine. By measuring the pH value of the aqueous polyacrylamide solution, the pH value of different types of polyacrylamide is different, and this method can identify the polyacrylamide based on its properties. However, the pH will deviate slightly due to different production processes, and the pH can be determined by the production process.

2. Mix and add methods. Anyone who knows about polyacrylamide knows that you can’t mix anions and cations. The mixture will react.

3. Judge by sewage detection. The classification of polyacrylamide can be determined by the adaptability of different polyacrylamide in sewage. In general, anionic polyacrylamide is suitable for highly concentrated, positively charged suspended solids with neutral or alkaline pH. Cationic polyacrylamide is suitable for negatively charged suspensions. Non-ionic polyacrylamide is suitable for suspension solids in mixed organic and inorganic states, with neutral or acidic pH.
