Polyaluminum chloride (PAC) typically comes in tan, white, or yellow. Different colors of PAC also differ significantly in their applications and supplier technology.
PAC with an aluminum oxide content between 27% and 30% within the Chinese standard range typically appears as a solid powder with a khaki, yellow, or pale yellow color. These PACs are highly water-soluble, and their dissolution undergoes physicochemical changes such as electrochemical reactions, coagulation, adsorption, and precipitation. They form coarse, active flocs quickly, exhibit high activity, and settle rapidly, resulting in significant purification effects for highly turbid water.
White PAC, known as high-purity, iron-free white PAC, is a higher-quality product compared to other PACs. It is used in a variety of applications, including papermaking sizing agents, sugar decolorization and clarification agents, tanning, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foundry, and water treatment.
Yellow PAC is made from calcium aluminate powder, hydrochloric acid, and bauxite. It is primarily used in sewage and drinking water treatment. For drinking water treatment, my country has strict requirements regarding heavy metals, so both the raw materials and supplier processes are superior to those of tan PAC.
